The Value of M&A activities for OBA Customers
I spend about 30% of my time visiting customers and trying to understand how Anju can add value to customers. One of the concerns expressed by customers is that by engaging in acquisitions, we will dilute attention paid to individual customers. I want to make sure this issue is addressed so this concern is alleviated.
First, the acquisitions are handled by a group that is different from those addressing individual customer support or customization efforts. For example, the development and support team at OBA are aware of the acquisition only after it happens. This is important as we do not want individual divisional customer needs neglected as we go through the acquisitions.
The more important aspect of M&A is that it enhances the value of our current solution to you by providing additional features to your current software by incorporating acquired features into the core product that you are using. As I visit customers, I have outlined this with specific examples. An example is how our acquisition of Sylogent will improve the IRMS web suite soon. Sylogent has a work flow engine called SAM which has substantially more functionality than what is currently in IRMS Web. We are updating the technology and this workflow engine will soon be an optional add on for IRMS Web.
Another advantage of M&A is to reduce the number of vendors that you will need to deal with. With few of our largest pharma customers, we are now a single vendor instead of 3 vendors they had to deal with. One master agreement, consolidated account manager and eventually connecting the information from different systems will benefit the customer.
As Anju expands its footprint, we can also invest more in common technology solutions which as a small entity, we cannot economically justify the investment. Features like Digital Onboarding, Digital Visualization, BYOD, BOT etc. would not be feasible for a small platform.
I hope this addresses the concern but more important gives you all an idea about why M&A benefits all of you.
